Dr. Gary Chen received his medical degree at Sun Yat-Sen
University of Medical Science in Guangzhou, China and
completed his surgical internship, orthopedic surgery
residency, and plastic and hand micro-surgery specialty
training in China. After emigrating to the United
States in 1993, Dr. Chen served his surgical internship
at Brown Universty, orthopedic residency at Los Angeles
County Hospital, orthopedic trauma fellowship at
University of Louisville, hand micro-surgery fellowship
at Kleinert Hand Center (University of Louisville) and
Curtis National Hand Center (Johns Hopkins University).
He held a micro-surgical instructor position at the
Curtis National Hand Institute at Johns Hopkins for
three years. He is currently the medical director
of Orthopedic Surgery Program at California Medical
Center, Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic
Surgery at UCLA.
